A Kitchen Remodeler That Starts at the Committee Table

Mfditanzania remodels kitchens in Carlsbad, California. A large share of the houses here were built as part of planned communities, and a kitchen in one of those houses is not only yours to change. The association that governs the neighborhood has a say in anything that shows from the street or the neighbor’s yard, and in how the work itself is carried out. We built the way we work around that fact.

Most remodeling trouble we hear about in Aviara and Calavera Hills has nothing to do with cabinets. It is a job that started before the architectural review letter arrived, a range hood duct that came through the stucco somewhere the committee did not like, or a dumpster that sat in the driveway longer than the rules allow. None of those are hard problems. They are just problems that are cheap before demolition and expensive after it.

How We Work

We read your association’s guidelines first and tell you honestly which parts of your plan need review and which do not. Then we draw the kitchen, collect spec sheets, and submit a package that answers the committee’s likely questions. The City of Carlsbad permit goes in on the same timeline, because the city inspects structural, electrical and plumbing work whether or not an HOA is involved.

Once both approvals are in hand, one crew carries the build from demolition to the final walk through. We tell you the order of the work before it starts, keep the dust contained so you can live in the house, and keep you informed when a cabinet delivery or a countertop slab runs late.

What We Will Not Do

We will not start work that needs approval before it is approved. We will not claim a wall is safe to remove without an engineer looking at it. And if your cabinet boxes are sound and the layout works, we will tell you that new doors and counters may be the smarter spend.
